Following is from director Christopher Nolan, who has done The Dark Knight, Memento, The Prestige.  All these films came after Following.

Following is about a guy who follows other people and writes about it. At least until one day when he follows the same guy twice and gets caught. The guy that he was following is a thief and brings him into his world of stealing from people’s houses.

The movie showcases Nolan’s brilliance. Such a great movie. Acting, direction, plot, is all damn near perfect. You can certinely see why Nolan has become such a great director in his later films.

Following is a must-see for any film lovers.

Memories of Murder

I am a huge Korean cinema fan. Most of the films I have posted up here have been North American with a few foreign films here and there, but my real interest in film is with Asia. I don’t know how they do it, but they just kick the butt off any American or Canadian film I’ve ever seen.

**Thar be spoilers**

Memories of Murder is based off a true life event. A serial killer in South Korea went around killing women. He has not been caught to this day, because they still don’t know who it was. This was back in the 1980s and South Korea has a 15 year statute of limitations, and well, it’s been longer than that so nothing would happen to him if he came forth.

Anywho, the movie is awesome. If you’re familiar with Korean cinema, you’ll appreciate and recognize the awesome humor bits. The ending is crazy and I can’t believe they never caught the guy. Great film and definitely worth the time to watch.

I also wanted to mention this is rated an 8.1 on IMDB (if that matters for you) and currently has 14 award wins and 2 nominations. Wowzers.

25th Hour

This might not be the most WTF movie you’ve seen, but the factor is still there. The movie itself however is definitely one of the best movies I’ve seen in a decade.

Directed by Spike Lee with an amazing cast: Edward Norton, Rosario Dawson, Barry Pepper, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Anna Paquin, and Brian Cox.

The movie is about a drug dealer (Edward Norton) getting pinched by the DEA and his last 25 hours before he is scheduled to go to prison. The movie was based off the book written by David Benioff of the same title, which I’m definitely gonna pick up a copy and see how it is.

There is a great scene in the movie which I wanted to share with you. It won’t spoil the movie, but man Edward Norton can deliver.

I am giving this movie out to friends for birthdays, weddings, any holiday. It is that good. I can’t recommend this movie enough.

Antikörper (aka Antibodies) is a German flick about  a psycho serial killer that knows who’s behind another murder the police are trying to solve.

A small village police man is the only person this killer will talk to, for reasons you’ll see when you watch it. That’s when the movie gets a bit more twisted, the discussions between the village cop and the killer.

Eventually they do figure out who killed the person they are looking for, and it was kinda evident or at least to some degree.

This is a pretty good movie, easy to follow. It is in German so you’ll need subs if you don’t speak it, but I’d definitely suggest it. Good solid thriller movie with some good directing.
